David King is the Director of Drug Product Operations at Samsung Biologics, where he leads a team of 200+ employees in the introduction of biopharmaceuticals into established aseptic filling lines for both clinical and commercial markets. David King holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and has 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. He worked as a microbiologist for the first five years of his career at filter manufacturer Gelman Sciences and with a parental manufacturer, Fuji-Sawa. He spent seven years as a quality engineer with medical device manufacturers (Volcano and Tandem Diabetes), focusing on sterilization (steam, gamma, and ETO), and leading the design/validation of a new sterilization process in-line with production. For the past 19 years, he has managed aseptic filling production facilities at Parke-Davis, Genentech, Jubilant HollisterStier, and Samsung Biologics. David King has extensive experience that includes working with complicated formulations, various container closure systems, tight project timelines, and successfully leading manufacturing processes to profitability.
