In January 2002, Reno joined Grace as an Applications Scientist to focus on silicas used in chromatographic columns for the separation of biologics. He has taken on roles as Media Technology Manager and Senior R&D Chemist. He is currently Principal Scientist, collaborating with team members and customers in the development of new chromatographic media; and, providing global technical support for the purification of nutraceuticals, small molecule pharmaceuticals, protein therapeutics, and vaccines. Before joining Grace, Reno was a postdoctoral researcher in the chemistry department at The Ohio State University. He received a B.S. in biochemistry, with high honors, in 1992 from the University of Maryland at College Park. At the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, Reno was a graduate research fellow conducting biogeochemistry lab and field studies funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy.
