Maaike Everts is director of strategic marketing for the parenteral drug delivery solutions business at Evonik Health Care. Prior to joining Evonik in 2019 as a senior project manager, Maaike was a full professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the U.S., where she had leadership roles in the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance, a venture between UAB and Southern Research, and the Antiviral Drug Discovery and Development Consortium, funded by the National Institutes of Health. Maaike worked at UAB since 2002, after receiving her Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics and drug delivery from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
