James is a Research Advisor at the Albemarle South Haven facility. He has served as the technical lead on several API projects, encompassing the full spectrum of product stages from phase I to commercialization. In a 23-year career in pharmaceutical process research and development, he has worked both for CDMOs and large-pharma companies, such as Merck and Abbott Laboratories. He earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and continued to a postdoctoral research position at Colorado State University.
