Day 11: Meeting the Mad Max Legends on Bondi Beach

Tuning Up Before a Breakdown

Day 11 on the Road to the Max: Australia was packed with excitement, as we hit the iconic Bondi Beach for a memorable meeting with two Mad Max legends. The day started with a quick tune-up for the Interceptor, but a malfunctioning handbrake in Downtown Sydney left us without the Interceptor for part of the day. Despite the setback, the adventure continued as we made our way to Bondi. There, we had the privilege of sitting down with Tim Burns and Roger Ward, better known as Johnny the Boy and Fifi from the original Mad Max.

With this unforgettable meeting behind us, we’re now heading more than 200 kilometers north to Newcastle to continue the adventure. Stay tuned as the Road to the Max: Australia keeps revving forward!
