Wexford
Wexford
The penultimate day of our Road to Ireland adventure. Getting an early start, the team had the great fortune to watch the sun rise over the Irish countryside. With the sea in the background, and the mist over the fields, they couldn’t have scripted a more perfect morning. At Raven’s Point Beach the team took a leisurely stroll through the dunes, even spotting some horses out for a gallop along the strand. Since Day 9 featured only one interview, the team enjoyed a leisurely time in Wexford, in search of WiFi and soaking up more of the waterfront. At Johnstown Castle, the Gothic towers got a little competition for attention from the DeLorean and at the Irish National Heritage Park the team really did feel like the DeLorean took them back in time. Our first and last interview of the day was with Biostór Ireland’s Managing Director, Peadar Mac Gabhann. Peadar toured us around the facility’s different cold storage areas before we set up the interview shoot in the bioreactor room. With an engaging interview and some good old-fashioned sightseeing, it was a day well spent. One more day to go on The Road to Ireland and the team is looking forward to seeing what it has in store.
Peadar Mac Gabhann, Managing Director of Biostór Ireland, talks to Nigel Walker about how Biostór, the first independent human tissue establishment in Ireland, plans to import U.S. tissues for distribution in the EU. They also discuss Biostór’s expansion into cold-chain development for regenerative medicine and the expanding need for more providers in cold-chain and supply chain logistics.
