Waterford
Wexford
Waking up in Waterford, the marina views didn’t fail to disappoint. The team was so taken by Grannagh Castle yesterday, they spent the morning getting some more footage of the river and castle ruins before exploring more of Waterford. The town’s colorful buildings made for some more fantastic footage. At Bishop’s Palace, a step back into Georgian Ireland, the team paused for a well-deserved coffee break and a bit of cake. Bishop’s Palace is home to the world’s oldest piece of Waterford glass, but we couldn’t help thinking about the most famous piece of Waterford crystal — the Times’ Square New Year’s Eve ball — and get a bit nostalgic for home. No time to waste though, and the team piled into the cars to hit the road. Our first interview of the day was with Stephen Delaney, Managing Director of Q1 Scientific. We had a lovely time touring their facility and chatting with Stephen in the DeLorean. Our second interview for Day 8 was at Kinetic Labs, also in Waterford. There we met General Manager Cormac Johnston and had the opportunity to tour the building as well as speak with Cormac in the lab. The way to Wexford was quite an adventure. Some goats joined in the fun and the DeLorean took its second ferry ride. At the JFK Arboretum the team let off some of that end-of-trip energy by touring the gardens — and also playing in the hay. All in all a great Day 8 and ready to explore more of Wexford tomorrow.
Stephen Delaney, Managing Director of Q1 Scientific, talks to Nigel Walker about the many different storage temperature ranges available at Q1 Scientific’s facilities. They also discuss the challenges presented by the high-tech and sensitive equipment necessary to keep pharmaceutical samples at extreme temperature conditions.
