It’s hard to believe it’s already Day 5 on The Road to Ireland! At the National University of Ireland, Galway we parked the DeLorean and went off in search of the Center for Cell Manufacturing Ireland and the Clinical Research Facility. There we met up with Janusz Krawczyk, Director of CCMI & Clinical Trials, Úna McCabe, QC Microbiologist at CCMI and aCGT CEO Gary McAuslan — who you’ll recognize from our Day 1 Trinity College shoot. Janusz Krawczyk gave the team a tour of the CRF labs, and then it was time to split up for the day. Phill, George, and Mark set out for Burren National Park and the cliffs of Moher. While they were capturing some stunning scenery, Nigel, Emilee, and Lucas jumped in the Landrover to interview the team at Charles River Labs in Ballina. The team was able to tour the RightSource Labs, and had a lovely time chatting with John Conway, Head of Operations (Rightsourcing/Operations Excellence); Michelle Duffy Head of Operations (Analytical & Biosafety); and Liam McHale, Site Head. On Saturday the team took the opportunity to explore the Dingle Peninsula and even scored some free ice cream. At Inch Beach the DeLorean got some quality time with a few fans, and although tempted to go for a swim, decided against it. In Dingle the team took in the local sights before calling it a day, ready to get back at it tomorrow.
