Dublin
We began Day 2 of our Road to Ireland by sprucing up the DeLorean a bit and then heading out for our first stop of the day at Uniphar, in Dublin. At Uniphar, we had the opportunity to do a walkthrough of their packaging/sorting facility and offices — and snap a few glamor shots of the DeLorean, of course. From there it was on to our second stop of the day: the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) at University College Dublin. A little Irish rain only made the drive there more picturesque. At UCD we took advantage of the picture perfect lighting in their beautiful atrium, and spoke with Normax CEO & Chairman, Peter Jensen; Meira GTX’s Head of Quality Brian O’Connor; Shane Costigan, Scientific Specialist & Team Lead for Assay Genie; Ann McGee, Director of MIAS Pharma and Shada Warreth, Senior Training Manager at NIBRT. NIBRT’s Director of Projects, Killian O’Driscoll was kind enough to give the team a tour of the facility — and even jumped in the DeLorean himself. Even though the team said goodbye to NIBRT, the Road To work is never done. As Emilee, George, Mark, Phill, and Haig headed back to the hotel to wind down, Lucas and Nigel struck out for some strong bandwidth to get all the day’s valuable content back to the team in New York. Go raibh maith agat (thank you) to everyone who met us on Day 2!
Shada Warreth, Senior Training Manager at the PDA Ireland Chapter, speaks to Nigel Walker about how the PDA provides a forum to facilitate networking, knowledge exchange, and training on the latest technology and regulatory advances in the biopharma industry.
