About the Trip
The Road to BIO was a 12-day speed-to-market campaign culminating at the BIO International Convention in San Diego. A team of seven That’s Nice employees made the trek in a 2017 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster SV and an RV through 19 states, from Boston to San Diego, driving 4,746 miles and 100 hours.
Along the way, they stopped to speak with CDMOs, CROs, engineering firms, and other innovators breaking ground in pharma and biopharma, meeting with 19 sponsor companies across the country.
From the start, the Road to BIO was about breakthroughs — breaking through the cost, risk, and regulatory pressures on the road to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical development. But as the journey unfolded, it became evident that this was about more than drug development — it was about people.
The Road to BIO was a cross-country road trip involving seven guys, an RV and a Lamborghini SV. Starting in the biotech hub of Cambridge, Massachusetts, the team traveled to the BIO International Convention in San Diego, California, overcoming various obstacles along the way.
