MINNEAPOLIS /PRNewswire/ -- Bio-Techne today announced the launch of the CE-SDS PLUS system for its ProteinSimple-branded Maurice platform. This new system further expands the usability of Maurice's proprietary cartridge and reduces undesirable protein fragmentation during separation.

Since its introduction in 2016, Maurice has enabled capillary electrophoresis - sodium dodecyl sulfate (CE-SDS) for size-based separation across a broad range of molecules. The CE-SDS PLUS system includes a new cartridge, a novel sample buffer, and a new version of 'Compass for iCE' software. These advances will enable researchers to obtain superior data consistency, significantly increased injection number per cartridge, and a more accurate analysis of proteins susceptible to fragmentation. In addition, the gold-standard, 'whole-column' imaging technology Maurice employs is augmented with an additional fluorescence filter for broader applications in charge heterogeneity analysis.

Dave Eansor, President of Bio-Techne's Protein Sciences Segment, commented, "We continue to develop robust tools that simplify applications and remove complexity, enabling researchers to focus on their science. Maurice brings a new level of data reproducibility and ease-of-use to the CE market. We are excited to introduce CE-SDS PLUS to our customers for further enhancement of size-based characterization and purity analysis."

Maurice CE-SDS PLUS will be unveiled at WCBP 2019, which is being held January 29-31, 2019, in Washington, D.C.USA. Learn more about the Maurice system at www.proteinsimple.com/maurice.
