People getting older and older in Florida, and all around the world
Florida is The Sunshine State and that's one of the reasons it attracts so many retirees, focused on enjoying the twilight years of their lives. Ironically, the two discussions that took place on Day 39 of The Road to 50 States were all about longevity and could be the next big things in pharma that ultimately see humans living much longer. The team visited Derek Hennecke, biotech investor in companies like Inceptor Bio, which is fueling the drive to develop CAR therapies as better treatments or even cures for cancers. Speaking of cars and drive, this interview was the second to take place in a classic automobile – Derek's Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner. Once back in the chrome cars, the team had to put in miles of their own to reach the second interview in Miami. Dr. Anthony Japour is President & CEO of iTolerance, a regenerative medicine company. He talked about advances in regenerative medicine extending human life beyond 100 years with greater frequency. It's not hard to believe people living healthier for longer, and Florida attracting more residents. The team thought about this as they reached Palm Beach Gardens just up the coast, where they retired.
