Show Me State of mind when it comes to pharma innovation
It is an unofficial nickname but 'Show Me State' appears on the Missouri license plates, and on Day 36 the team on The Road to 50 States were of a mind to be introduced to further insight into innovation and the next big thing in pharma. They spent most of the day in St. Louis, the Gateway City, and hit the jackpot in their quest when they visited the Cortex Innovation Community, which yielded three interviews. This 200-acre hub of business and innovation includes the API Innovation Center, which is a non-profit focused on ways the U.S. can boost the production of pharmaceutical ingredients. After this fruitful visit, the team wanted to experience more of St. Louis, so they headed over to Gateway Arch National Park, where the tallest man-made structure in the Western Hemisphere was very much the next big thing for them. It was not a gateway to the west though, and the very next big thing for them was tinged with sadness as they said goodbye to George again at St. Louis Airport and headed southeast into the sunset, through Kentucky, and bed that was ultimately music to their ears in Nashville, Tennessee.
